The Gujarat State Handicraft Development Corporation also wanted to know about the ground realities of embroidery artisans and requested a Development Support Organisation to help them in this process.
Qasab was set up as an initiative in 1997 to revitalise the embroidery craft of Kutch and reposition its cultural diversity by designing a business model that could not only create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Qasab is known for its outstanding quality of authentic Kutch embroidery, appliqué and patchwork products, its hallmark being – traditional motifs reflecting the cultural identity of each community.
