        With the depletion of natural resources and growing urbanisation, the embroidering communities were forced to find alternative ways of income in times of drought.

        Genesis of KMVS

        The Gujarat State Handicraft Development Corporation also wanted to know about the ground realities of embroidery artisans and requested a Development Support Organisation to help them in this process.

        Origination of Qasab

        Qasab was set up as an initiative in 1997 to revitalise the embroidery craft of Kutch and reposition its cultural diversity by designing a business model that could not only create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
